DON'T GET CAUGHT UNPREPARED

STUDENTS

Emergencies don’t wait - don't get caught unprepared. Having solid preparation can give you peace of mind and, in the face of an emergency, save lives. We’re here to help every Husky prepare for emergencies before they happen. The Office of Emergency Management has developed a university-wide University Safety campaign, UConnREADY, to “create a community proud to be safe.” Click on the icons below to access information and tools to make you:

ARE YOU A RESIDENT ASSISTANT?

The Office of Emergency Management encourages Resident Assistants (RA) to share this preparedness information with their residents. Here is a plan to help you get started:

  1. Review the preparedness resources on this website for yourself and develop a personal emergency plan.
  2. Share this page with your residents.
  3. Ensure that your residents know two ways out of the building. During an emergency, a primary exit may not be the closest one or may become blocked.
  4. Remind your residents to update their contact information used by UConnALERT.
  5. Print and post Seconds for Safety flyers on your bulletin boards.
  6. Schedule/attend University Safety training sessions:
    1. Contact OEM at oem@uconn.edu to schedule a training or discussion.
    2. Review and/or request UConn Police training courses and crime prevention programs.
